How do I start an episode and choose its language or source?
On the website, open an anime, choose a season and episode, then select a source in the language row you want. In the official apps, the same choice is in the episode’s source menu; choosing another source is not the same as changing the app’s server address.

Before you start
If you have not chosen an app yet, start with your device. You need a working internet connection and an episode with at least one playable source. Sign in for account progress. As a website guest, if you see Ready to play, select Play episode and complete the short verification before the episode loads.
SUB means subtitles; DUB means dubbed audio. For example, GER SUB is Japanese audio with German subtitles, GER DUB is German audio, and ENG SUB is Japanese audio with English subtitles. Read the language guide if you are unsure which to choose.
Start on the website
- Open Search, find the anime and open its page. Choose the season or story group, then the episode thumbnail. Check the season and episode heading above the player before starting.
- Scroll to the source buttons below the player. The rows show German flag + subtitles icon, German flag + microphone, and US flag + subtitles icon. Choose a named source in the appropriate row.
- For the integrated FireAnime player, choose ProxyPlayer, CookieStream or ProxyPlayerSlow when one is offered. Other sources may open an embedded external player with its own controls.
- Press Play if the browser does not start the video. If Resume appears, check its time and choose Resume or Start over.
- To change the source, select another source button in the same language row. To change the language, select a button in the other row. Wait for the new video to load before trying another.
Find the source choice in your app

What should happen?
The selected episode starts, with the expected audio/subtitles and either the saved position or the beginning. To continue later, pause and leave the player normally so it can save progress. Continue Watching explains where to find it again.
If the result is not what you expected
- There is no source in your language row: that version is not offered for this episode. Changing the website interface language will not create it.
- A source is listed but stays black or fails: try one other offered source in the same language. If it also fails, follow playback troubleshooting.
- Resume offers the wrong position: use Start over for this episode, then check which account/device stored the progress.
- You want Watch Together or clickable comment timestamps: use the integrated website player. An external embedded player is not interchangeable with it.
Do not change https://fireani.me or https://media.fireani.me in app setup to fix one episode’s source; those addresses connect the app to the service.
