FireAnime ("We," "Us," or "Our") is committed to protecting the privacy of Our users ("User" or "You"). This Privacy Policy explains how We collect, use, disclose, and safeguard Your information when You visit our website or use our application (collectively, the "Service").

1. DATA COLLECTION AND USAGE

We adhere to the principle of data minimization. Operating, securing, and improving the Service requires the processing of the limited data categories described below.

1.1. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Data: If You choose to register, We collect a username and password. We do not require an email address for registration to minimize personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Profile Data: Any information You voluntarily add to Your public profile (e.g., avatar, bio, social media links).
  • Preferences: Watchlist data, viewing history, and application settings stored to enhance Your user experience.
  • Contribution Data: Reviews, episode comments, likes, helpful votes, language and spoiler choices, and notification preferences that You choose to create.
  • Safety Data: Reports You submit, reports about Your content, and moderation decisions. Reports and internal moderation notes are not public.

1.2. Information Collected Automatically

When You access the Service, specific information is automatically recorded by Our servers and service infrastructure:

  • Log Data: Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser version, requested pages, request time, and other operational data recorded by Our servers and network providers.
  • Device Data: Device type or model, operating system, application or browser version, language, screen characteristics, and connection type where available.
  • Error Diagnostics: When an application error occurs, Our internally operated error-monitoring system may receive the application version, operating system or browser version, a stack trace, and the page path without query parameters. Default personally identifiable information collection, session replay, and performance tracing are disabled.
  • Usage Analytics: Our internally operated analytics system records anonymous page or screen routes, application platform and version, referrer, browser or operating system, screen size, language, and coarse location derived from request data. Client routes are grouped by route pattern where available. We do not send usernames, email addresses, authentication tokens, search text, or persistent account or device identifiers to analytics.
  • Cookies and Local Storage: We use necessary cookies and local storage to maintain sessions, remember privacy and interface preferences, save playback progress, and provide requested features. Our internal error diagnostics and usage analytics do not use analytics cookies or cross-site tracking.

2. INTERNAL ANALYTICS, DIAGNOSTICS, AND EXTERNAL CONTENT

We do not operate third-party advertising networks, use third-party analytics services, sell analytics data, or build advertising profiles. We process limited technical and usage data through systems operated under Our control solely to maintain, secure, diagnose, and improve the Service.

  • Error Monitoring: Technical diagnostics are used for reliability and debugging. Default personally identifiable information collection, performance tracing, and session replay are disabled.
  • Usage Analytics: Anonymous usage events help Us understand aggregate feature and playback usage across supported applications. Analytics does not use cookies or cross-site tracking, website URLs omit query parameters, browser Do Not Track preferences are respected, and session replay is not enabled.
  • External Content: Video streams, external links, and optional embedded media may be supplied by independent third-party providers. When You choose to load or access that content, the provider may receive Your IP address, browser or device information, and request metadata. A provider may also use its own cookies, display advertising within its content, or process data under its own privacy policy. These providers are not used as FireAnime analytics or advertising partners, and We do not control their independent practices.

3. USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We use the collected data for the following specific purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service.
  • To monitor the usage of the Service and detect, prevent, and address technical issues.
  • To provide external content or connections that You request.
  • To enforce Our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations.

4. DATA RETENTION AND TRANSFER

4.1. Retention

We will retain Your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Self-hosted error events are configured for a 30-day retention period unless a shorter period is required for a specific incident or deletion request.

Deleting a review permanently removes that review and its associated helpful votes and reports. Deleting an episode comment permanently removes that comment; deleting an opening comment also removes its replies and their associated likes and reports. Safety records may be retained separately only where necessary for abuse prevention, legal obligations, or an active legal hold. Related notifications and caches are removed or refreshed with the underlying deletion.

You can delete individual reviews and comments from their contextual pages. Requests to access, export, correct, anonymize, or erase account data can be submitted through the contact process below. Identity verification may be required before private data is disclosed or erased.

4.2. International Transfer

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of Your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from Your jurisdiction. The Service is operated from Belize and the Kingdom of Tonga. By using the Service, You consent to the transfer of Your data to these jurisdictions.

5. DISCLOSURE OF DATA

We may disclose Your personal data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation or valid court order.
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of FireAnime.
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service.
  • Protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public.
  • Protect against legal liability.

6. SECURITY OF DATA

The security of Your data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your Child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that information from Our servers.

8. GDPR AND CCPA NOTICE

While We operate from Belize/Tonga, We acknowledge the rights of users in the EEA and California.

  • GDPR: Users in the European Economic Area have the right to access, rectify, or erase their personal data. You may exercise these rights by contacting us.
  • CCPA: California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion.

9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
