I cannot sign in or keep getting signed out. What should I check first?
Keep any device that is still signed in, then test your FireAnime username and password on the website. If the website works but an app fails, check that client's server address or renew its expired pairing code; there is no standard email password-reset route.

First: keep any device that is still signed in
Do not sign out of your last working session or clear its app data to troubleshoot another device. It may be your remaining way to change a forgotten password. FireAnime has no normal email password-reset route.
Start with the message you can actually see: rejected credentials, server connection failure, expired pairing code, or a session that disappears later. They need different fixes.
Check the failing sign-in safely
- Open the website's Login page on the device that cannot sign in. Enter your Username and Password. Use the FireAnime username, not an email address or an account belonging to an unrelated Jellyfin server.
- Check your password manager's saved entry, keyboard layout and accidental spaces from copying. Use the eye button only when nobody can see your screen. Submit once after correcting a specific mistake; do not keep guessing.
- If website login works but an app fails, check the server field before changing the password:
Client Server address Next guide Official FireAnime Desktop https://fireani.meDesktop setup Streamyfin, Swiftfin or another compatible Jellyfin client https://media.fireani.meJellyfin setup
Do not add/apior copy a playback source's address into either field. - If a QR/code screen says the code expired, return to the waiting official app, request a fresh sign-in code and complete that new pairing. A screenshot of the old code will not work. Follow QR/code sign-in.
- If several devices fail at the same time, check the Service status link at the top of Help. If there is an incident, preserve your current data and try again after the service recovers.
What the result tells you
- Website and app now work: configuration or a mistyped credential was the likely problem. Keep the correct address saved in that client.
- Website works, one client does not: note the app name/version and whether the failure happens before or after submitting credentials. Check app updates and its setup guide.
- Credentials fail everywhere: if you genuinely no longer know the password, stop repeated guesses and use password recovery limitations.
- Login works until the browser closes: check whether you are using a private browsing window or a browser setting/extension that removes site data on exit. Try a normal window without deleting existing data.
- A paired device stopped working: its access may have expired or been revoked. Review paired devices from a working signed-in session and pair again if appropriate.
Still stuck? Report the boundary, not the secret
Contact support with the client, OS, app version, approximate time, exact error text and whether website login succeeds. Never include your password, sign-in QR code, device code, session token or exported browser storage.
Repeated failures can trigger sign-in limits; wait if the message asks you to. Creating another account does not recover the old account's library. Reinstalling a client can remove local data and will not restore forgotten credentials.
