How do I change my password while I am still signed in?

While signed in, open Security: the website uses New password → Reset password; the official Android app also asks you to confirm the new password. Save the change and test the new login without closing your last working session.

Covered in this guide: Website in a browser · FireAnime for Android

You must still be signed in

Use a browser or the official Android app that already has access to your account. This procedure changes the password using that session; it is not an email-reset form. If you are signed out everywhere, start with forgotten-password help.

Have a password manager ready. Do not close your last working session until the new password is saved and checked.

Change the password on your current device

Website

  1. Open Account → Settings → Security in the signed-in browser.
  2. Enter the new password in New password. The website has one password field, not a separate confirmation field.
  3. Select Reset password and wait for Password reset. Despite the button's wording, this uses your existing sign-in.
  4. Save the new password in your password manager.

Official Android app

  1. Open Account → Security.
  2. Enter New password, using at least eight characters, and enter exactly the same value in Confirm new password.
  3. Select Change password and wait for the success message. If the form points to a mismatch, correct the confirmation rather than signing out.
  4. Update your saved credentials. Other clients can use the new password on their next password sign-in.

Check that the new password works

Open Log in in a separate browser/private window and sign in with the same username and the new password. Keep the original session available until this succeeds.

Errors and account security

  • The page asks you to sign in: that browser no longer has a usable session. Try another still-signed-in device or the recovery guide.
  • Saving fails: read the form's error, check the connection and try again. A click alone does not confirm that the password changed.
  • You suspect someone else has access: after changing the password, sign out unfamiliar paired devices. Do not assume changing the password immediately closes every browser or third-party session.
  • Changing a password does not delete your account, watchlist or local downloads. Sign-out and account switching are separate actions.
