How do I install FireAnime on Android TV, Google TV or Fire TV?
Install the TV APK from https://fireani.me/app-tv on Android TV, Google TV or Fire OS devices that allow APK installation. The official FireAnime TV app is **not supported on Vega OS**, including Fire TV Stick 4K Select, Stick HD (2026) and Stick 4K (3rd generation, 2026). We recommend **Astra** for Vega OS 1.2 or later; **Moonfin** is another Vega Jellyfin client to try. Connect your chosen client to https://media.fireani.me with your FireAnime account.

Check the system on the device running the app
Check your Fire TV model before downloading an APK. On the stick, open Settings → My Fire TV (or Device & Software) → About and check its model and software version. Compare the exact model and generation with Amazon's device list if you are unsure.

Use the operating system of the device running the app. A Fire TV Stick plugged into an LG television uses the stick's system, which may be Fire OS or Vega OS. If you are installing directly on the LG television, follow the webOS guide instead.
An Apple TV needs Apple TV setup, and an LG television running the app itself needs webOS setup. The APK installation steps below apply only when the TV device itself offers APK installation in its settings.
Fire TV with Vega OS: try a Jellyfin client
The official FireAnime TV app does not support Vega OS. Downloader, transferring an APK from your phone or enabling Developer Mode cannot make its Android APK run on this system. Jellyfin for Android TV is also an Android app; its Fire OS edition is not a Vega OS edition.
Start with Astra, an independent Jellyfin client built for Vega OS. A FireAnime user has reported that Astra worked for them on a TV that could not install APKs. Their exact device, OS and app version were not provided, so check your own setup with one episode.
Moonfin's Vega edition is another option through the Amazon Appstore. Its FireAnime connection and playback on Vega hardware remain unverified. Use its Vega edition, not the Android APK.

- Open the Amazon Appstore on the stick and search for Astra. Check device availability using the listing above. If your Vega OS is older than 1.2, check for a system update before using the current Astra release. If you choose Moonfin instead, install its store edition for your stick. Android APK downloads will not work on Vega OS.
- Open your chosen client and add a Jellyfin server manually:
https://media.fireani.me. Local discovery will not find this hosted service. You do not need your own server or server plugins. - Sign in with your FireAnime username and password. Register on the website first if you do not have an account. Use password sign-in rather than FireAnime's official-app QR pairing or the client's Jellyfin Quick Connect code.
- If Astra asks whether the server has a graphics card, choose I don't know. For the audio question, choose the option matching your TV or sound system; these are client playback preferences, not a request to set up a server.
- Choose a language library, open an anime and play an episode. The Jellyfin setup guide explains library names and connection troubleshooting.
If the store does not offer a Vega-compatible client, or it cannot play an episode, use another supported TV device or watch on a phone or computer. For a connection or playback failure, contact support with the stick model, OS, client version and exact message. There is no supported FireAnime APK installation path on Vega OS.
Install directly on an APK-compatible television
Android TV or Google TV
- In the TV's app store, install Downloader by AFTVnews, a tool for opening a website and saving its APK. Check the developer's official app page for the correct listing.
- Open Downloader on the TV, enter
https://fireani.me/app-tvin its address field and open the page. - Go to the Android TV APK download section and choose Direct APK Download. Move Downloader's cursor with the directional buttons and select with the remote's centre button.
- If the installer is blocked, follow its settings prompt and allow Install unknown apps for Downloader only. On many devices this is under Settings → Apps → Special app access; manufacturer menus vary.
- Return to Downloader. Open the completed APK from Files if the installer did not reopen, then choose Install → Open.
Fire TV / Fire TV Stick with Fire OS
- Install Downloader by AFTVnews from the Amazon Appstore on the Fire TV.
- Open Settings → My Fire TV (or Device & Software) → Developer options. Enable Install unknown apps for Downloader, or the older Apps from Unknown Sources setting if that is what the device provides.
- If Developer options is hidden, Amazon documents selecting the device name under About seven times on applicable Fire OS versions, then returning one screen. Do not assume this enables APK support on an incompatible model. Amazon device instructions
- In Downloader, open
https://fireani.me/app-tv, choose the Android TV APK → Direct APK Download, then install it. You do not need to enable ADB debugging for this browser-based method. - After installation, disable the temporary unknown-app installation permission if no longer needed.
Open FireAnime and sign in
After installing the TV APK, launch FireAnime from the TV's app list. Direction buttons move the highlighted selection; OK/Select opens it and Back returns. Open an anime, season and episode to test playback.
For your account library, use the official app's QR/code sign-in. For updates, use Settings → App → Check for Updates. Both are separate from installing Downloader.
If you cannot get past a step
- The webpage does not work in Downloader: Try its browser setting for JavaScript and reload the trusted FireAnime page. See Downloader's browser instructions.
- The APK downloaded to your phone: It is still on your phone. Open the download page in Downloader on the television, or use a trusted device-to-device transfer method you already have configured.
- The app looks like a phone interface: Check that you used the TV page, not the Android phone download.
- No unknown-app setting, or the APK will not install on a new Fire TV Stick: Check the model and OS in the table above. On Vega OS, go to the Jellyfin alternative; Developer options do not add Android APK support.
- Installation fails on Android TV, Google TV or Fire OS: Confirm that APK installation is allowed. If it still fails, contact support with the device model, operating system and exact message.
- You want offline episodes: The official TV app streams online; it has no offline library. See download-capable devices.
