How do I download one episode in the Android or desktop app?
On Android, open an episode, choose its language/source and tap Download; on FireAnime Desktop use the Download episode control below the player. Wait for completion in Downloads and test the saved episode offline—adding it to the queue does not finish the download.
Covered in this guide: FireAnime for Android · FireAnime Desktop — Android phone / tablet · Windows / Linux
Before you start
Use the official Android phone/tablet app or FireAnime Desktop on Windows/Linux. The website has no offline library; for iPhone/iPad follow Streamyfin downloads. Allow enough free storage and keep an internet connection until the episode is complete.
Choose the language before downloading: the saved file comes from that episode's selected source. Changing your playback preference afterwards does not translate an already saved video.
Save one episode
Android phone or tablet
- Open the anime, select its season and open the episode. Leave fullscreen if necessary to see the episode page.
- Under Playback source, choose the desired language and an available source. Check that it plays before saving a large batch.
- Tap Download in the episode actions. Episode added to the download queue. means it is waiting or transferring, not ready offline.
- Tap the down-arrow-in-a-circle Downloads button in the top navigation. This opens Offline library; unfinished tasks appear under Current downloads.
- Keep the app open. When the anime appears among downloaded titles, open it and tap an episode marked Ready to watch.
Windows or Linux desktop
The desktop controls are in English.
- Open an anime through Home or Search, choose a season and open an episode.
- Select the desired language/source on the episode page.
- In the toolbar beneath the player, choose the down-arrow Download episode control. Hover over an icon to read its tooltip.
- Open Downloads under Your library in the left sidebar. Watch Download activity until the episode is complete.
- Open the anime under Ready offline, choose its season and select the episode's Play control.
For a whole desktop season, use the separate Download season procedure.
Check that it really saved
A completed episode opens from the offline library. Before a trip, disconnect the network and test a short section including sound and subtitles, then reconnect. A queue entry or progress bar alone is not confirmation.
If the button or file is missing
- The action says Play download: This episode is already saved; the same action now opens the local copy.
- It says Cancel download: A task already exists. Pressing it stops that task; do not press repeatedly to speed it up.
- It says Unavailable, or no source is offered: A restricted or unavailable episode cannot be made downloadable by adding it to a watchlist.
- It says Retry download, or saving fails: Follow download failure checks, especially storage and source availability.
- The saved language is wrong: Remove only that episode using download deletion, select the correct source and save it again. Downloads do not move between devices.
