How do I delete downloads, and what happens when I log out, reset or uninstall?
Delete completed episodes through the offline library or Downloads to free local storage. This does not delete your watchlist or FireAnime account; signing out, clearing local data and uninstalling are different actions with different effects.
Covered in this guide: FireAnime for Android · FireAnime Desktop · Streamyfin — Android phone / tablet · Windows / Linux · iPhone / iPad
Decide what you want to remove
To free space, delete the local video—not your account, watchlist or viewing history. A deleted download has no undo; you can save it again only if the episode remains available online.
For a transfer that has not finished, use Cancel in the queue. The following steps remove saved episodes.
Delete only the downloads you choose
Android
- Tap the top-navigation Downloads down-arrow and open the anime in Offline library.
- Find the season and episode. Tap its trash icon, labelled Delete episode.
- In Delete this episode?, check the season and episode number.
- Choose Delete Episode to remove it, or Keep Episode to leave it untouched. If it was the last saved episode for this anime, its library card disappears.
Windows or Linux desktop
The desktop interface is in English.
- Open Downloads → Ready offline, then the anime and its Season tab.
- For one episode, use the row's trash Remove control. This removes the local task/files; do not expect an undo.
- For a whole season, select Delete season above the episode list, check the season and count in the confirmation, then confirm.
- To remove this anime's entire offline collection, choose Delete all on its offline detail page, then Delete all episodes in the confirmation. Read the count carefully: it includes all locally listed seasons, not just the visible one.
For Streamyfin, manage saved files in that client's Downloads section. Check whether its confirmation targets an episode, a series or the entire library; its controls are separate from FireAnime Desktop.
Check the result
The removed episode no longer appears as ready offline. Check free storage in your device's system settings; the display may take a moment to refresh. Deletion here does not remove the anime from your online watchlist or erase your account.
Logout, reset and uninstall are different
| Action | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Sign out of the official Android app | Ends the local sign-in; it is not a download-deletion action. Remove sensitive local videos separately on a shared device. |
| Sign out or switch account on desktop | Changes the active account, not a secure wipe of the device's download library. |
| Desktop Settings → Data & diagnostics → Clear all local data | Removes saved accounts, server/settings and local playback progress; logs remain. It is not the download-library deletion control. |
| Clear app storage or uninstall | Can remove local files and the information needed to open them. Do not use either as a download repair method or rely on copies surviving. |
| Delete a FireAnime account | A separate account-data request, not accomplished by deleting videos. |
If storage stays occupied after a reported deletion, reopen the library and check whether the item remains. Record the error for support; do not delete unrelated system folders. Before a reset or reinstall, assume your only local copies may be lost and save your login details safely.
