How do I subscribe to an anime and find new episodes in the release inbox?

Follow a release, not just a title in your list#

Sign in to your FireAnime account. A subscription follows new releases in the languages you select; a watchlist status or a like does not create that subscription. For example, following GerDub does not request alerts for an EngSub release.

The full instructions below use the website in a desktop or phone browser. The official Android app also manages subscriptions under Account → Subscriptions; desktop has its own subscription area. Use the website link if you cannot find the equivalent control in your client.

Subscribe to the languages you want#

1. Use Search to open the anime's detail page.
2. Select Subscribe, the bell action near the anime information.
3. Under Choose release languages, tick every version you want to follow. Use the language guide if GerSub, GerDub or EngSub is unclear.
4. Choose whether In-app notifications should create a notice for matching releases. Keeping a subscription and turning that notice off are different actions.
5. Select Save. Confirm that the action now reads Subscribed and shows the selected languages.
6. Open Account → Subscriptions to manage the subscription or check the release inbox.

Read, filter or clear the release inbox#

Select New Episodes in Subscriptions. Open a release to go to that episode, or choose Mark read when you have dealt with the notice. Mark all read clears the unread state across the inbox; it does not mark episodes watched.

The Unread only switch and language buttons filter what you see. Turn off Unread only and enable the relevant language when an entry seems to have disappeared. These viewing filters do not change which languages you subscribe to.

Change languages or unsubscribe#

1. In Subscriptions, select the Subscriptions tab and find the anime. Disable Unread only if it has no unread releases.
2. Select the anime's Settings, change languages or In-app notifications, then Save.
3. To stop following it entirely, select Unsubscribe and confirm. Removing every selected language also asks you to confirm unsubscribing.

Check the result#

The subscription card shows its active languages and In-app on/off state. Future matching releases can appear in New Episodes. Reading an entry, marking it read and actually watching the episode are separate actions.

Why is an alert or release missing?#

Check in this order: correct account → anime still subscribed → correct subscription languages → inbox language/unread filters → in-app switch → account notification preferences.

A calendar time is a schedule, not confirmation that a playable release has arrived. A subscription is not a promise of an immediate operating-system push on every device. If Status unavailable appears on the anime's subscription button, use Retry before changing its settings; do not assume it is unsubscribed.
