How do I comment on an episode, reply or add a timestamp?

Open Comments below the website's episode player and write a comment or choose Reply on a specific contribution. The plus button opens language, spoiler and timestamp options; your own contribution history links back for editing or permanent deletion.

Covered in this guide: Website in a browser

Open the episode you actually want to discuss

These steps use the website, including a phone browser. Find the anime, open the right season and episode, then scroll below its player to Comments. A comment belongs to this episode; use an anime review for your opinion on the whole title.

You can read comments without posting. To write, reply or react, sign in with your FireAnime account. Use the integrated player if you want to attach the current playback time.

Write a comment or reply

  1. In Comments, choose Top for ranked discussion or Newest to find recent posts. Open View … replies if you want to read a conversation before replying.
  2. Type in What did you think of this episode? at the bottom of the discussion. To answer someone, select Reply on their comment and check the Replying to @… line above the editor.
  3. Open the plus button labelled Comment options. Choose English or Deutsch for your text and check the spoiler setting. The composer starts with Episode spoilers; choose No spoilers only if your text is safe to reveal.
  4. If the scene matters, use the timestamp steps below.
  5. Select the up-arrow button labelled Post comment. You can also use Ctrl+Enter or Command+Enter. Wait for Comment posted. or Discussion started. before assuming it was sent.

Attach the scene instead of describing where to seek

  1. Pause the integrated player at the scene you mean.
  2. Open Comment options and select Add timestamp. The button then shows the attached time.
  3. If your comment reveals only events up to that scene, choose Spoilers up to timestamp. Without an attached time, this choice is unavailable.
  4. Publish the comment. Readers can select its timestamp to seek in the integrated player.

The timestamp is stored with the comment. A timestamp control that is unavailable with another player is not fixed by typing a made-up time or changing your account language.

Find, edit or remove your contribution

Open Account → Contributions → Comments and use Open at episode on the entry. On your comment, open the three-dot Comment actions menu:

  • Edit loads your comment into the editor. Make the change and use the up-arrow Save comment action.
  • Delete asks for confirmation and permanently removes the contribution. Deleting an opening comment also removes its reply thread, including other people's replies.

If you only want to correct a sentence or spoiler setting, edit rather than delete the thread.

Check what readers see

Your comment appears on that episode; replies stay grouped under their opening comment. A spoiler-marked comment can be hidden until deliberately revealed or until the attached playback time is reached. That is not a failed post. Use spoiler/report help for details.

If posting or finding the comment fails

  • The send arrow is disabled: enter non-empty text. The editor allows up to 2,200 characters.
  • No edit/delete action: check that this is your contribution and you are signed into its author account.
  • Your post is not near the top: choose Newest, open its reply thread or return through your contribution history.
  • Different language: the discussion loads according to the website language. Check the language you chose when posting and switch the website language if necessary.
  • Comments could not be loaded: use Try again in the discussion; this does not require resetting the player or deleting local data.
  • Images, files and arbitrary embedded media are not supported in the composer. For reply notices, use notification preferences.
