What does FireAnime send to AniList or MyAnimeList, and what does it not send?
FireAnime can advance AniList/MyAnimeList episode counts through a continuous sequence of completed episodes with known matches. It does not import your external list or change ratings, notes or list status; unfinished episodes and missing matches stop the advance.

What “sync” means here
This is an outbound episode-progress update, not a copy of your AniList/MyAnimeList library. Your provider must be connected, your account must have access, and delivery must be enabled.
| Data or action | What FireAnime does |
|---|---|
| Completed episodes with a known provider match | Can advance the provider's watched-episode count. |
| An episode you only started or left unfinished | Does not count as a completed episode for this transfer. |
| Your whole external list | Is not imported into FireAnime. |
| Status, rating or notes | Are not changed by this integration. |
| A title removed from your FireAnime list | Does not request deletion of the provider's entry. |
| Provider progress already ahead | Is not intentionally lowered to match FireAnime. |
Check the progress that can be sent
- Open the anime in FireAnime and check its watched-episode marks. The eligible value comes from completed episodes, not from the number of minutes played or your watchlist status.
- Compare the provider's current count, then look for an unfinished episode after that point. Progress advances from that existing count through a continuous sequence of completed, matched episodes; a later finished episode does not bridge a new gap.
- Open Tracking sync. Check the intended provider username, Connected status, Waiting / Failed counts and any notice.
- For episodes completed before linking, use Queue catch-up. Wait for delivery and compare the correct anime entry at the provider. See tracking troubleshooting when it does not move.
Why does a gap stop the count?
For example, with a provider count starting at 0, if mapped episodes 1, 2 and 4 are complete but 3 is not, the continuous completed sequence reaches 2, not 4. If the provider already records 3, completed mapped episode 4 can advance from that existing count; earlier provider progress is not imported into FireAnime. Only mark episode 3 watched locally if you actually finished it; the fix is not to falsify your history.
A mapping identifies which FireAnime episode belongs to which AniList/MyAnimeList entry. AniList uses the supported title-group ranges; MyAnimeList needs exact episode matches. Seasons, specials and provider numbering can differ. An absent match stops the update rather than guessing the wrong title or episode.
What counts as a successful update?
The correct provider entry shows a higher eligible episode count, or stays unchanged because it was already equally far or further ahead. Waiting counts delivery targets, not a promise that every individual episode will produce a visible change. A zero catch-up count can mean there is nothing eligible to send.
Limits and next actions
Catch-up cannot create missing matches, fill unfinished episodes or import provider lists. To report a likely mapping problem, send support the FireAnime title/episode link, provider title link and expected episode correspondence; omit authorization links and account secrets.
Avoid having multiple tracking tools edit the same entry simultaneously. FireAnime checks the provider's value before submitting a higher one, but another application or a manual edit can occur in between. Disconnecting stops future delivery, not changes already made.
