FireAnime ("We," "Us," or "Our") is committed to protecting the privacy of Our users ("User" or "You"). This Privacy Policy explains how We collect, use, disclose, and safeguard Your information when You visit our website or use our application (collectively, the "Service").

1. DATA COLLECTION AND USAGE#

We adhere to the principle of data minimization. However, the operation of the Service and the use of third-party advertising networks require the processing of certain data categories.

1.1. Information You Provide to Us

Account Data: If You choose to register, We collect a username and password. We do not require an email address for registration to minimize personally identifiable information (PII).
Profile Data: Any information You voluntarily add to Your public profile (e.g., avatar, bio, social media links).
Preferences: Watchlist data, viewing history, and application settings stored to enhance Your user experience.
Community Data: Reviews, episode comments, reactions, follows, read state, language and spoiler choices, and notification preferences that You choose to create.
Safety Data: Reports You submit, reports about Your content, and moderation decisions. Reports and internal moderation notes are not public.

1.2. Information Collected Automatically

When You access the Service, specific information is automatically recorded by Our servers and third-party partners:

Log Data: Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser version, requested pages, request time, and other operational data recorded by Our servers and network providers.
Device Data: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
Error Diagnostics: When an application error occurs, Our self-hosted error-monitoring service may receive the application version, operating system or browser version, a stack trace, and the page path without query parameters. Default personally identifiable information collection, session replay, and performance tracing are disabled.
Usage Analytics: Our self-hosted analytics service records anonymous page or screen routes, application platform and version, referrer, browser or operating system, screen size, language, and coarse location derived from request data. Client routes are grouped by route pattern where available. We do not send usernames, email addresses, authentication tokens, search text, or persistent account or device identifiers to analytics.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We and our third-party advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies. Our self-hosted error diagnostics and usage analytics do not use analytics cookies.

2. ADVERTISING, ANALYTICS, AND ERROR MONITORING#

We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when You visit the Service. These companies may use information (not including Your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about Your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to You.

Ad Networks: Third-party vendors, including Google and other ad networks, use cookies to serve ads based on a User's prior visits to the Service or other websites.
Data Collection by Partners: These partners may collect data regarding your IP address, device ID, and usage behavior to deliver targeted advertising ("Interest-Based Advertising").
Opt-Out: You may be able to opt-out of some interest-based advertising by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance or the Network Advertising Initiative.
Error Monitoring: We operate Sentry on infrastructure under Our control to diagnose crashes and technical failures. We do not use Google Analytics. Error-monitoring data is used for reliability and debugging, not advertising profiles.
Usage Analytics: We operate Umami on infrastructure under Our control to understand aggregate Service usage. Umami is configured without analytics cookies or cross-site tracking, the website tracker omits URL query parameters and respects the browser's Do Not Track preference, and session replay is not enabled. Analytics data is not used to build advertising profiles.

3. USE OF YOUR INFORMATION#

We use the collected data for the following specific purposes:

To provide and maintain the Service.
To monitor the usage of the Service and detect, prevent, and address technical issues.
To allow third-party partners to deliver advertisements and analyze traffic.
To enforce Our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations.

4. DATA RETENTION AND TRANSFER#

4.1. Retention

We will retain Your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Self-hosted error events are configured for a 30-day retention period unless a shorter period is required for a specific incident or deletion request.

Public contributions can remain meaningful when other members have replied. Deleting a review or comment removes it from its normal public surface; where preserving reply context is necessary, the opening contribution is replaced with a deletion marker and the remaining conversation is archived. Safety records may be retained separately for abuse prevention, legal obligations, or an active legal hold. Community notifications, caches, and public indexes must be removed or refreshed with the underlying deletion.

You can delete individual reviews and comments from their contextual pages. Requests to access, export, correct, anonymize, or erase account data can be submitted through the contact process below. Identity verification may be required before private data is disclosed or erased.

4.2. International Transfer

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of Your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from Your jurisdiction. The Service is operated from Belize and the Kingdom of Tonga. By using the Service, You consent to the transfer of Your data to these jurisdictions.

5. DISCLOSURE OF DATA#

We may disclose Your personal data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Comply with a legal obligation or valid court order.
Protect and defend the rights or property of FireAnime.
Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service.
Protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public.
Protect against legal liability.

6. SECURITY OF DATA#

The security of Your data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY#

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your Child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that information from Our servers.

While We operate from Belize/Tonga, We acknowledge the rights of users in the EEA and California.

GDPR: Users in the European Economic Area have the right to access, rectify, or erase their personal data. You may exercise these rights by contacting us.
CCPA: California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion.

9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY#

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
