A live-action drama adaptation was announced today for Please Save My Earth, a classic shojo manga by Saki Hiwatari. Takahiro Miki directs the drama at Amazon MGM Studio, with scripts by Nana Yamamoto and music by Moshimoss. Alice Hirose stars as Mokuren. The series will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video beginning in fall 2027.
Saki Hiwatari serialized the original Please Save My Earth manga in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume shojo manga magazine from December 1986 to May 1994, with 21 volumes published in total. The series was previously adapted into a six-episode OVA series from 1993 – 1994 as well as a theatrical anime film in 1994 and a 30-minute music image video in 1995.VIZ Media publishes an English language version of Please Save My Earth and describes the first volume as follows:
Life's hard when you're shy, harder still when you move from your quiet hometown to the bustle of a big city and a new high school.
