The upcoming Matsurika Kanriden anime published a new trailer today along with information on three additional cast members and the opening theme song performer. KANA-BOON performs the opening theme song, entitled “Hanabanashi”, which is sampled in the trailer below. The series broadcasts in Japan beginning in January 2027.

The new cast members include:
Rei Tenga voiced by Takeo Otsuka
Hou Shisei voiced by Kotaro Nishiyama
Shou Shunsetsu voiced by Sho Komura
Rinne Ishida writes and Izumi illustrates the original Matsurika Kanriden light novels, and Enterbrain publishes the series under their B's Log Bunko imprint, with 18 volumes published to date. Akita Shoten also serializes a manga adaptation with artwork by Waka Takase in their Princess publication, with 12 volumes published so far.Yuichi Nakazawa directs the TV anime at animation studio MAHO FILM, with supervising direction by Takeshi Mori, series composition by Toko Machida, character designs by Manami Inose and music by Takuro Iga.The story of Matsurika Kanriden follows Ko Matsurika, a commoner who quickly climbs the ranks in the Inner Palace thanks to her good memory and a romantic encounter with the Emperor.
