Japanese Rock Band SCANDAL to Disband in August 2027 After Final Tour

It’s almost the end of an era for fans of Japanese rock band SCANDAL. Following a 20th anniversary concert at Osaka-Jo Hall on August 21, the band members announced plans to cease activities a year from now. Thankfully, they won’t be going out without one final bang. Or, rather, a full year of them.Starting this October, SCANDAL plans to kick off a final tour, covering all 47 prefectures of Japan. A solo concert at Yokohama Arena will close things out while marking the band’s 21st anniversary on August 21, 2027.The end of SCANDAL isn’t framed as a sad farewell, but more as one with a deep sense of accomplishment. As they say in the statement, after two decades of seeing the world and fulfilling dreams, “the four of us feel that we have truly done all that we could together.”Here’s the full message:

*On August 21, 2026, SCANDAL celebrated its 20th anniversary *with the “SCANDAL 20th Anniversary Live ‘Chapter 20’ at Osaka-Jo Hall.”

*Osaka-Jo Hall is the stage the four of us dreamed of standing on when we had just **formed the band. Over the years, we have celebrated many important days on the stage *here at Osaka-Jo Hall.

*On this important day marking 20 years as a band, we are proud to be standing here *once again, still the same four members we were back then.

*To everyone who came to the venue, watched the livestream, and celebrated our *20th anniversary with us, we would like to express our deepest gratitude.

After this performance, there is something the four of us would like to tell you.

Our 20-year journey as SCANDAL will reach its final chapter on August 21, 2027.

*Over these years, we have traveled throughout Japan and around the world. Through **the places we have been able to visit, the people we have met, and the many experiences **we could only have had by living our lives as SCANDAL, the four of us feel that we have *truly done all that we could together.

*Deciding how to bring an end to a band that has been together for this long **was truly difficult. But after talking it over many times, the four of us eventually came *to this conclusion.

*As our final journey together, we will tour all 47 prefectures of Japan **starting this October, and on August 21, our 21st anniversary, we will hold *a solo concert at Yokohama Arena.

*Over this final year together, we’ll cherish every show and every day, and we’ll keep *playing as the four of us until the very last moment.
