Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Die Graue Hexe Anime Reveals Main Cast in New Trailer

The upcoming two-part anime theatrical film Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Die Graue Hexe (translated as “The Gray Witch”) published a new trailer today along side new character visuals, the main voice cast and additional staff members. Part 1 debuts in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026, with Part 2 to be released at an as-yet-unspecified later date.

Based on original work by Hajime Yatate and Ryosuke Takahashi, Mamoru Oshii directs Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Die Graue Hexe at animation studio Sunrise, with a script by Mamoru Oshii and Kei Yamamura, original character designs by Kazuchika Kise, character designs by Tetsuya Nishio, Takashi Kojima and Shingo Ogiso, original mechanical designs by Kunio Okawara, mechanical designs by Shinobu Tsuneki, Yoshihiro Sono, Juu Ishiguchi and Wataru Inada and music by Kenji Kawai.The films feature the voice talents of Miyuki Sawashiro as Ash Vamps and Mabuki Andou as Maki Staufenberg. The film will also feature the voice talents of Shinichiro Miki, Yuki Kaji, Yuichi Nakamura, Satoshi Tsuruoka, Tomokazu Sugita, Kenta Miyake, Chafurin, Hochu Otsuka, Daisuke Ono, Takayuki Sugo, Takahiro Sakurai and Sumire Uesaka. The roles for the remaining cast have not yet been revealed.The story of Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Die Graue Hexe is set during the final stages of the Hundred Year War between Gilgamesh and Balarant that ravaged the Astragius Galaxy. Against this backdrop, army officer Maki Staufenberg is assigned to Valkyria II, the second planet in the Asgard system, where she is tasked with investigating Ash Vamps, a soldier who has earned the nickname of “Witch” because of her habit of being the sole survivor in missions assigned to her ragtag band of soldiers on punishment detail.
